Pünktchenjacke

It is not really visible on my crappy pics but the Tweed yarn has little colourful flecks in it.

Felix was not in mood for modelling and tried to escape...

Pattern: Manda Ruth by Jane Richmond
Yarn: Lang Yarns Tweed
Needles: 5mm

Buttons are from stash and the yarn was on sale, so a really fast and economic project.

A little "baby-knitting" in between

I really need some instant gratification and I wanted to help the people in Haiti. So this it is.

The pattern is Manda Ruth by Jane Richmond and it is in the Help-for-Haiti programm on Ravelry. I think this is a very good idea to gather money for Haiti.

The yarn is some yarn I bought on sale in the LYS lately. It is a bulky tweedy yarn with some acrylic content and I bought it with toddler knitting in mind. Yes toddler - he is not a baby any more ;) I´m knitting largest size (2 yo) on 5mm needles and hope it will fit as I was to lazy for a gauge swatch.

There is some progress, but slow.....

This dark grey beauty is the Peasy cardigan. I´m somewhere on the body part and wish a had a knitting machine that does the stockinette part....
While knitting I´m thinking which buttons to choose, when finally finished....

...and again...endless stockinette on my greyish purple Coraline cardigan......

And again I´ve started a cardigan

Pattern: Peasy by Heidi Kirrmaier
Yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed in carbon (dark grey)
needles: Knit picks harmony in 3.5mm

The pattern is good to understand and nice to knit. It is a top down and seamless construction which I absolutly prefer.

The yarn is soft and warm and not itchy! I love it! It was gifted to me by my wonderful friend Ulrika which makes the whole sweater very precious to me.

Windschief...as a neckwarmer this time

I really like this pattern. It is fast, easy, nice and wearable.

Yarn: Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Tuareg
Needles: 4.5mm DPN

My mustard Socks

...are finished and already in heavy use.

Pattern: my own
Yarn: UK Alpaca Alpaca Sock Yarn in mustard
Needles: 2.5mm

The yarn is a bit ichty and splitty while knitting. The socks are warm and a bit thicker as the socks I usually knit, but I like them anyway.

CO 60sts and 3k/1p rib throughout the whole sock. The cables are on every 7th row.

Stash knit-down has begun :)

This year I really want to try to knit more from stash. As a first project I´ve knitted a little vest for Felix. I love vests for babies and this one is really nice.

Knitted with 2 strands of yarn (Drops Alpaca/Sirdar Balmoral) on 5mm needles and I´ve casted on 100sts to get the right size. It turned out a bit bulky but it is ok. Next time I´ll cast on more stitches and use dk yarn single stranded. Buttons used are from stash also.

Pattern: Pebble
Needle: 5mm
Yarn: Garnstudio Drops Alpaca (about 1 skein used/grey)
Sirdar Balmoral (1.2 skeins/deerstalker)

First Shawl in 2010

This is my first shawl in 2010. I joined a group and plan to make at least 10 shawls in 2010. I am not sure,if I really knit so many shawls but I´ll give it a try.

This shawl is a real winner! Wonderful soft yarn which was a gift from my friend Ulrika and a nice and interesting pattern. I´ve made the size s because I was not sure how much yarn was on the skein. Now I have 25g yarn leftover. The shawl is a litle small but light as a feather and
warm.

Pattern: Andrea´s Shawl by Kirsten Kapur
Yarn: Östergötlands Ullspinneri Visjögarn, 1tradig, naturgrau
Needles: 5.5 circular

Some finished winter acessories

Just a basic Malabrigo ribbed hat with pom pom in saphire green for Philipp. Thats how he orders his hats. CO 88 on 4mm needles and after some cm I´ve changed to 4.5mm DPN and knitted on in 2k/2p rib.

Pattern: Falling leaves chunky hat
Needles: 6.5mm DPN
Yarn: Misti Alpaca Chunky Solids

This hat was superfast. It only took 2 hours to knit. The yarn was a gift from my friend Nicola and I didn´t knit a swatch. The plan was to knit a hat for my goddaughter but it turned out so small that it fits Felix now. So instead of adult it is baby size. That comes from not checking the gauge! But as long as it fits somewon there is nothing lost. he looks very cute, like a little elve in it.

Pattern: Veyla by Ysolda
Needles: 3.25mm DPN
Yarn: Chinese wool/cashmere yarn I´ve bought on ebay some time ago

Pattern: Cranfort Mitts
Needles: 2.5mm DPN
Yarn: Drops Garnstudio Alpaca in light grey

These went very fast and were supereasy. The fitting is nice and best of all, both mitts are the same. No left or right one :)

Pattern: Eternity Scarf
Needles: 5.5 mm knit picks harmony circular
Yarn: Lana Grossa Lord (a bit over 2 skeins)

I´ve co 160 sts instead of 200 because of the gauge difference.

The yarn the christmas gift from my dear daughter Teresa. I love this colour and casted on right on Christmas Eve. But I was always so unconcentrated that I had to start 3 times until I got it right. It is beautiful, soft and I love it all the time!

Pattern: Windschief by Stephen West
Needles: 4mm and 4.5mm
Yarn: Malabrigo Merino Worsted .....Tuareg and size s for son
Pearl and size M for husband

These hats went really fast and have a nice fit.

Happy New Year 2010

To my dear knitting friends a very happy, joyful, inspiring, healthy, harmonic and wonderful New Year 2010.
